| The Procession 60 x 90cm, Mixed Media
These were painted for an exposition here in Montigny... The theme was fairytales...but with a twist.
They
are based on the fairytale "The Emperor's new clothes", except in my
story 'he' is a 'she'.She is intelligent & narcissistic. She has an
idea to show off her body to her subjects. She hires some friends to
pose as dressmakers & they pretend to make a wonderful, esquiste
dress for her. The three canvases show the idea, the dress rehersal and
the final procesion. The poses come from life drawing and sketches made
at the Louvre.
